Newcome Education
Newcome Education is a unique group of schools currently seeking a Regional Clinical Psychologist to support our Eastern Region Schools. The successful candidate will join a multidisciplinary team, working to support a relational approach to teaching and learning which influences our whole school ethos and systems, as well as everyday practice.
At Newcome Education, we see past the labels associated with learning differences and instead see the young person and their potential. We currently have 4 schools and a range of exciting opportunities as we continue to expand to meet the needs of more young people.
Our Schools
Our Eastern Region Schools offer education placements for children and young people with very complex needs, often living in complex circumstances. Many of our learners have diagnoses of Autism and have experienced exclusion from mainstream settings. The Eastern Region Schools currently are:
Quorn Hall School, LeicestershireHardwick House School, LoughboroughWilds Lodge School, RutlandGretton School, Cambridgeshire
Travel between sites will be required, however we encourage flexible working where possible and expenses are paid from the base school (closest school to candidate).
The role
We are seeking an experienced Clinical Psychologist to join our group of schools and bring energy, commitment and compassion to their role. We would particularly welcome Clinical Psychologists with experience of working clinically with children and young people with autism and social, emotional and mental health needs. It is not essential to have worked in an education setting, as support will be provided to help the successful candidate apply their experience within our schools.
You will work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team, including educational psychologists, therapists and teaching practitioners, promoting the use of clinical psychology in order to improve the learning outcomes and emotional well-being of children and young people. You will work systemically to support a whole school ethos based on Positive Behaviour Support and Relational Approaches, working clinically with specific students, class teams and networks to effect positive change for individual students.
You will need to be creative and passionate about improving outcomes for children and young people with complex needs. This is a challenging role and you must be able to cope with stressful interpersonal situations whilst maintaining a high degree of professionalism.
There is a commitment to continued professional development for our staff and a specific CPD budget to support psychologists. We anticipate the psychology provision will grow over the coming years with potential to recruit both assistant grade and qualified psychologists. This is an exciting time to join our psychology provision in schools and shape the developing service.
