Description

TSR Legal are honoured to be working with an award–winning law firm who is ranked 56th in Stonewalls Top 100 Employers List and a national and international presence. Their national presence includes over 150 fee earners across 8 locations the Real Estate team are a force to be reckoned with. The team offers great opportunities to get involved in varied and interesting work. It's the quality and commerciality of the service, our industry insight and the talent and passion of their people that engages their clients, and they love what we do.

This role can be carried out on a flexible basis – whether part or full–time and with time working from home. Some collaborative teamwork will be based at the office hubs so, whilst this team operates nationally, this role is best suited for somebody who sees either the Bristol or Southampton offices as their 'home base'.

What is the role?

This role is to work within the nationally recognised Real Estate Energy and Natural Resources team who have an impressive client base from across the globe, ranging from entrepreneurial new entrants and joint ventures to established independents, vertically integrated utilities, financial institutions, governments and world–wide energy giants.

This is a property role with an energy focus – that may mean working for an energy company on land options to operate a wind, solar, battery storage or hydrogen development through to work to move their office location or develop an operation and maintenance facility. You'll experience a wide range of property work from development projects, acquisitions and disposals to landlord and tenant, asset management and portfolio management instructions for national and international energy clients; and as the team act on all real estate elements of major energy infrastructure developments, you'll see yourself involved in project development work for new generation projects in relation to both renewable energy transactions and mainstream power and pipeline projects.

Transactions are often high value and offer an excellent opportunity to be involved in high profile quality work.

The Real Estate team has a deserved reputation for providing first–class legal advice, acting as trusted advisors to many of the key players across the sector. A number of their talented lawyers are listed as leaders in their field.

Working with the wider Real Estate team across the country there will be plenty of opportunity for client contact and you'll be expected to build and maintain strong relationships with these contacts.

What does the ideal candidate look like?

We're keen to see applications from enthusiastic real estate lawyers who've had exposure to quality real estate work ideally from a large regional or city firm with at least 2 years PQE. While energy experience is preferred anyone with an interest in this specialist area would be considered – what's most important is that you have a genuine enthusiasm in this specialism.

You'll be a lawyer who is excited at the prospect of working in a busy and supportive environment. Excellent drafting skills, a sense of commercial pragmatism, a bright mind and a strong team ethos to help further develop the team's client base is important for this role. You'll also need to be motivated to participate in business development that helps to raise the team's profile and network. Business development is important for all of the lawyers, and you will be able to contribute to the growth of the team by assisting with the organisation of client events, writing articles for our website and other marketing activities.

What makes it great to work at this firm?

This firm continually works hard to create an open culture that sets us apart from other firms. They have a friendly, open culture with lots of networks to ensure it is a diverse and thriving workplace. The firm is in the Top 75 Employer in Social Mobility Index and offers wellbeing days for their staff as well as a focus on work/life balance, competitive salary and an impressive array of benefits.
