Bodywork and Cosmetics ✅

The bodywork on the van is fantastic for a vehicle of this age; a result of extremely good care and very low mileage. The paintwork is in pristine condition, with no signs of rust or cosmetic damage at all. The vehicle is structurally sound and runs sweetly, starting first time, every time. The 44 qualities of this transit are brilliant, with quality tyres on and high arches to ensure all terrain can be covered with complete ease. All lights including emergency blues are still working on this vehicle, although these will have to be decommissioned before it is driven on the roads unless purchased for the fire service again. It has been taken excellent care of in its former life and now with us, at Basevan.

Interior and Cab ✅

Both the interior and the cab of this van are very clean and have a fair amount of space. It currently has a drivers seat and two passenger seats fitted in the cab, with three more passenger seats behind. The seats themselves are in excellent condition, there are no tears to any of the upholstery or any missing buttons, which is so often found in second hand vehicles. This is a consequence of good maintenance, respect taken by the previous occupants and the respectable mileage on the van. The interior roof and sides of the vehicle are all carpet lined and have been kept in great condition. The vehicle can be accessed via the front drivers and passenger doors to the cab, the side loading door to the back passenger seats or the 3 seats of roller shutters at the sides and rear of the vehicle.

This beautiful example of a classic fire service vehicle comes fully supplied with all of the spare wheel changing equipment. It is 3850kg so will need to be driven on a C1 license or you must have passed your test before January 1997. With the 44 setup, this vehicle is extremely capable and will not be beaten by any terrain. It may not be the most typical van for a camper conversion, although we would be very excited to support someone with big dreams through this process! It could be ideal for outdoor activities, fitting a roof rack on the top, and storing equipment for climbing, walking etc in the rear area of the vehicle, with enough room to transport passengers to remote locations for some fantastic experiences and adventures. The company was formed by young entrepreneur Rupert Beeston (Managing Director), who began his journey by buying ex ambulances, converting and selling on as motorhomes.

During University unable to carry out any conversions and repeat demand for his vehicles, a solution was found, supplying the base vehicles and showing his customers how to do the conversion themselves. The solution was

This is a very important and unique aspect of our business.

During COVID when are business really took-off, we began using third party warranty providers such as the AA or Warranty wise. Which is so often adopted by dealers that don’t have the necessary facilities to satisfy the demands of second hand vehicle break-downs.

We found them to be very ineffective and unwilling on the whole, so being dissatisfied with this service we decided to look inwards. We invested further into our own facilities to ensure we could accommodate any issues with your vehicles in house. Resulting in better custom service given our ability to respond quicker and get you back on the road

We have even built accommodation for our full time van lifers in case of emergency! One step ahead, always.
