Manufacturing Futures seek to appoint a Quality Engineer with Health & Safety and Environmental experience (QHSE Officer) to join a well-established manufacturer near Huddersfield. The role will be to co-ordinate, support, deliver training and advise Managers and Employees, on all aspects with regards to Quality, Health & Safety and Environmental (QHSE) across the factory, and offices. The successful candidate will be able to establish, manage and monitor standards, processes, communications, training and systems to help ensure all responsibilities associated with QHSE.

Effectively advise, train and support Managers and employees to ensure a safe workplace environment is maintained to safeguard the health, safety and wellbeing of all employees, contractors and other 3rd parties.
Co-ordinate the ongoing systems/processes of Risk Assessments (RA) Safe Systems of Work (SSoW) Pre-user equipment checks and COSHH.
Provide H&S induction for new employees and also issue, maintain and monitor PPE.
Coordination and recording the outcomes of regular cross-site H&S Audits.
Ensure that all Health & Safety policies, procedures, rules and regulations are adhered to and are regularly reviewed, updated and communicated.
Ensure that: clear, relevant and timely advice to enable the Company to meet its statutory requirements in all areas pertaining to QHSE, including statutory training and reporting is issued.
Ensure that all statutory checks are undertaken and records of the checks are documented and easily accessible, checks to include but not limited to: Loler, Atex (equipment/ducts and filters), electrical infrastructure, water systems, gas infrastructure, workplace monitoring, LEV checks, nitrogen pipeline, FLTs, First Aid arrangements.
Ensure that all equipment is maintained / checked and records are documented and easily accessible.
Support the Factory Manager to ensure that regular reviews of risk assessments / Safe Systems of Work for all activities and work equipment are undertaken.
Ensure that all accidents and near misses are documented, properly investigated and recommended improvements implemented.
Ensure that QHSE Planned General Inspections (PGIs), fire drills and fire alarms are undertaken, correctly reported and appropriate corrective & preventive actions implemented.
Ensure that: risk assessments/SSoW and lone working procedures are managed and employees are aware of their responsibilities.
Coordinate Health Screening programme for all eligible employees and ensure full and accurate health and safety related training records are maintained.
Establish a full programme of documented health & safety inspections, audits and checks.
Liaise with external health & safety consultants in the provision of training programmes and health and safety services.
Manage and devise the agenda, take notes, formulate & distribute minutes for the Health & Safety Committee meetings. Ensure that all agreed action points are completed within deadlines.
Quality Engineer - Qualifications, Knowledge and Experience Requirements - QHSE Officer, Quality, Environmental, Health & Safety, Manufacturing
At least 3 years experience of being in a responsible QHSE Officer role in a manufacturing environment.
Implementing and managing hazard identification and risk management processes.
Managing Health and Safety investigations.
Health and Safety legislation / QHSE knowledge.
NEBOSH certificate, working towards diploma is desirable.
Good experience of auditing processes and ideally auditor qualified.
Experience of ensuring H&S across multiple sites inc. 3rd party sites.
Experience in designing and delivering QHSE training.
Managing performance data and providing Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
