Description

Our client is an SME commercial vehicle business based in Farnborough who are looking for a full time Purchase Ledger Assistant to join their finance team.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone in the early stages of their finance career to gain ongoing training and support with the opportunity to progress medium and long term as the team grows. Furthermore, study support is offered to the successful candidate.

In this role you will be reporting into the Financial Controller, while working closely with the wider team. The role is initially to administer the purchase ledger then in the coming months, the position will support a migration project to bring accounts receivable in house.

Key responsibilities:

Manage Accounts Payable inboxSupplier communications, responding to and resolving queriesReview, verify and post invoicesReconcile invoices received to goods receivedSetting up of new supplier accountsMaintain existing accounts details within purchase ledgerMonthly reconciliation of supplier statementsMaintain and reconcile intercompany accountsAdministration of periodic BACS payment runProcess manual payment requests as and when required in GBP & EuroMaintaining strong business relationships with both suppliers and internal stakeholdersReviewing procedures and systems to identify improvement opportunities The successful Purchase Ledger Assistant will:

Demonstrate a proactive attitude and a strong interest in advancing a career in AccountsBe a self–motivated individual capable of taking the initiative, whether working independently or as part of a teamDemonstrate attention to detailHave excellent communication skills and be able to deal effectively with internal and external clientsHave the capacity to learn new systems quicklyPossess a solid proficiency in using Microsoft ExcelBe able to work under pressure, respecting tight deadlines on a monthly basis Howett Thorpe are acting as a recruitment agency in relation to this role and comply with all relevant UK legislation and do not discriminate on any protected characteristics.
