This Proposals Engineer role based in Leeds is working with a UK based EPCM company which specialises in the design, manufacture, installation and commissioning of manufacturing plants and equipment within the chemical, water and gas sectors. The Proposals Engineer is responsible for responding to incoming enquiries and invitations to tender, preparing detailed and compliment bids, working to tight tender return deadlines and liaising with other estimators where necessary.

Responsibilities of the Proposals Engineer :

You will be required to attend project walk-rounds on client sites to gain a good understanding of the work involved in the project which is in the process of being tendered.Liaise professionally and courteously with client and colleagues, whilst developing strong and positive relationships with both.Assessing and quantifying materials, labour and any other resource required to successfully carry out the requirements of the project.The Proposals Engineer will be required to record all information in a format suitable to handover to Operations.When a bid is successful, you will be in charge of arranging and conducting a timely Contract Review and Handover meetings with Operations in line with Department Procedures.You will advise other members of the team and junior members of the team on requirements of design and fabrication of tanks, vessels.

The successful Proposals Engineer will hold a mechanical or design eng. background with experience and knowledge in the design and estimating of storage tanks, process and pressure vessels - with experience following design codes: PD5500, BS EN 14015, BS EN 13445, Pressure Equipment Directive & ATEX. You will be familiar with Pressure Calculations, ASME and PSSR as well as holding experience with managing a projects whole lifecycle.
