My client is an exciting, PE Backed engineering business based in Mid Kent.
They run a number of concurrent projects (30–80 at any one time), and are based in modern offices.
Description
The Project Cost controller will be a key appointment to support both the finance and operations departments, helping to ensure that projects stay within budget, meet commercial objectives, and are delivered on time.
Key responsibilities include:
Managing revenue recognition fora diverse project portfolioPreparation of project reports including weekly Flash and monthly / quarterly management accountsPreparation of financial plans, annual budgets, quarterly (re–)forecasts, project revenue reporting, Cost of Sales etcVariance analysis and associated commentaryProject margin / customer profitability analysisAccrued and deferred revenue calculationProject labour time sheetsSchedule progress reports. schedule analysis and trendsMonitoring and analysing KPI and performance dataReviewing project deadlines and budgetsAlignment of the cost and schedule dataCreation of project budgets from design to completionDaily / Weekly cost reporting as required.Review and approval of budget revision requestsCash flow management on projects Profile
The successful candidate for this project cost controller will likely meet the following criteria.
Strong financial experience in project management and cost control.Ideally qualified CIMA / ACCA, but Qualified by experience will be considered.Knowledge of financial compliance and regulation on contract accounting.Very strong communication skills and ability to manage and and support project managers.Cost control and financial reporting experience. Base salary of GBP50–60,000 + benefits.
