Professional Driver required for high end Fine Art Gallery in Mayfair. Must have experience in driving a Luton van out of UK, valid driving license, and the confidence and will to help the art technicians team during times when they are not driving. Have motivation to work hard and be a team player, as well as able to work on their own and spend long hours on the road, both inside and out of UK. We are looking for a candidate with a strong sense of responsibility, flexibility and management, and who feels confident with assisting with handy man duties when needed.
Duties/ Requirements:
License and ability to drive a Luton Van (incl. across Europe) - MUST Experience driving a Luton Van (incl. across Europe) - MUST Availability to drive long trips across Europe when needed + full time back and forth during the summer - MUST Be physically fit and have the ability to work comfortably on ladders, scaffolding or mechanized lifts - advantage Experience of handling delicate materials & some carpentry (such as building crates) - advantage Ability to handle, hang, assemble, and pack various types of fine art: paintings and sculptures - advantage Ability to build crates of all sizes - advantage Ability to attend installations/de-installations in galleries, residences, and commercial buildings, both in UK and out. The position is offered as full time (5 shifts per week) with the possibility for overtime or extra shifts at certain busy periods as well and during any trips. Ability to work long hours when needed. Driving between the months of May - Oct every year is continuous and requires constant availability and overtime.
The gallery operates 7 days a week, including bank holidays, and the shifts are Mondays - Sundays, normally 09:00 - 18:00.
