Your role
Reporting to the Head of Operational Excellence & Technical at Bath ASU, this role will be responsible for ensuring the production processes run smoothly and efficiently.
The job holder will be working with all other support functions to deliver significant performance improvements in People, Safety, Quality, Delivery and Cost. They will balance their workload with day-to-day problem solving and long-term, larger-scale process improvements, flow, and equipment improvements.
Your duties & responsibilities
Own problem solving to ensure our processes are capable, repeatable, and reliableAnalyse and collect data to make problems visibleUtilise formal problem-solving techniques appropriate for the type of problem to solveRun multiple practical problem solving and six sigma projects concurrentlyDetermine root cause and robust countermeasuresOwn the implementation of countermeasuresRevise SOPs with the latest best practicesAssist with the updates of training material for the same best practicesPlay an active part in improvement activities within the Quality Management SystemDrive improvements through the Change Control process to ensure compliance throughoutConduct Value Stream Design events to improve material and information flowImplement the lean guidelines to eliminate wasteBalance flow and workload through implementation of level-loading techniquesReduce errors in the manufacturing process, eliminating the need for remakesReduce scrap costs in line with budgetUse statistical analysis to improve process capabilityWorking across functions, play an integral role in the adoption of new equipment and Capex proposalsAssist with the documentation of planned maintenance activities, the planning of deep clean schedules and the timely upkeep of all validationsIdentify and drive changes in the bespoke production / IT systems for improved business processesInitiate and revise production documentation to standards that are clear and executableCreate flow through implementation of lean manufacturing techniquesTarget improvements in Right First TimeWork with our production, IT, and maintenance systems to ensure compliance and look for new opportunitiesManage projects across functions to ensure the delivery of improvements on time, in budget and maintaining complianceProvide an exemplary technical service to the production teamAct as a champion for change, and a role model for lean manufacturing and the adoption of six sigmaEnsure principles of GMP are always appliedBe a member of the on call team on a rota basis This job description is not intended to be exhaustive. Benefits
Salary of GBP45,000 per annum Annual leave of 25 days + bank holidays (increasing to 27 days after 3 years service) Annual company bonus scheme (subject to scheme eligibility) Pension - you will be auto-enrolled after 3 months of employment at 5% (with an employer contribution of 4%). You can also opt to increase your contribution to 6% to which the employer will contribute 8%.
