Production Supervisor

Job Purpose
Prepare and plan the daily requirements for production and packing of products, with the assistance of the team leaders.Manage, control and train staff to the standard necessary to complete these tasks.Maintain the factory, products and records to the standards agreed. To ensure the smooth running of the Low and High-Risk areas whilst adhering to the Company Quality Management System and HACCP procedures at all times. Responsibilities:
Arrange production, packing and staff to meet the daily requirements.Advise management of any potential problems; also advise the technical team if any problems have the potential to adversely affect the quality or safety of the product. In addition, assist in prompt rectification.Ensure full understanding of the procedure's manual. With reference to the procedure's manual ensure that all staff are satisfactorily trained to complete the tasks assigned. Maintain training records so that demonstrative evidence of satisfactory training exists.Leading, motivating, and scheduling the tasks of direct reports to create a dynamic team, ensuring they are kept up to date with business objectives and matters of health and safety by regular team meetings/121s.Identify those persons not suitable and assist the manager to plan corrective action.Maintain the factory in a clean and tidy condition. Ensure close liaison with the evening hygiene shift, so that the required standards are maintained, and ensure that provision is made during production to 'clean as you go'.Ensure close co-operation with Engineering with regard to maintenance and repairs to equipment and fabric and ensure hygienic return to production after any such work. Also ensure rapid reaction to and rectification with Engineering of any breakdowns and maintain the breakdown log.Check that all operations comply with Health and Safety requirements, and that all 'start up checks' are completed. Liaise where necessary with the Health & Safety Manager and report all potential problems to the Production Manager.Check and ensure that at all times production is carried out to, and that the quality standards of finished product meet, the requirements of the specifications. Ensure that all records are maintained as specified and that all deviations are reported and dealt with. Where deviations occur, they must be reported to the Production Manager and Quality Assurance/Technical.Keep the team leaders informed of changes to specifications, and the Quality Manuals. Ensure that good communications are maintained so that such information is passed to all staff. Ensure that the Company's rules regarding personal hygiene (e.g., Protective clothing, jewellery, eating, high care change, and use of lockers) are adhered to at all times.Any other duties commensurate with the grade and level of responsibility of this post.
