Ford & Stanley – The Rail Recruitment Experts are recruiting for a Production Planner who will be tasked with improving the short–term and long–term planning for a market leader in maintenance and overhaul activities. Building on existing data, this role will ensure accurate planning and increased visibility of upcoming works, allowing all projects to reach completion efficiently, and maximise existing order books.
The Opportunity
We are looking for a logical planner who can take on board a wide range of data points and turn them into a master plan, that will drive business activities in the production division of the business. Based in Wolverton, Milton Keynes, the position will grow to be highly influential in the success of the operation and will work closely with senior managers and stakeholders across the business. You will become indispensable to the company, and directly impact their efficiency.

Role and Responsibilities:
Maintain and manage the Master Production plan.As required report to and work with the Head of Production to ensure the best plan possible is developed.Support the planning and initialization of Project contracts within the business, complete updates and amendments to unit schedules and client/production amendments to that data.Support the Project, Production in the generation of detailed manufacturing and modification plans in the production phases of a project.Reconciliation of production throughput times with Project programmes.Confirm capacities and resource requirements with the production team to plan resource effectively.To manage amendments to the master plan via scheduling of production due dates in line with production capacity and Projects teams' acceptance.To work alongside the Project and Production Managers in the review process of planned and actual hours booked to a Project or individual tasks.To support the Material Planners to ensure all materials are align with the production plan. 1.Proven ability to pull together operational plans.
2.Ability and willingness to proactively get out and meet stakeholders, extract information and build trusting relationships.
3.Strong IT capability – particularly with Excel or recognised planning tools such as P6.
