voestalpine Turnout Technology UK Ltd. are recruiting for a Skilled Production Operator, in Edinburgh to join their growing business following the investment into a new state of the art MTE Milling Machine.

As a Skilled Production Operator, you will be responsible for setting up, operating and adjusting machines and equipment within a heavy industrial manufacturing setting. Responsibility for problem solving and escalation needed to meet customer order and business requirements.

Key Tasks & Responsibilities:

Operating Semi-Automatic Bandsaw, CNC Drill, Hydraulic Press & 3 Axis Milling Machines Setting and operating CNC Milling Machines, Planning, programming, and inspection of products, Producing products to key specifications, Operating different types of machinery on the shop floor, Multitasking and producing components to a high quality / standard, Provide assistance to the engineering team with appropriate feedback, Carrying out Essential Maintenance work and cleaning work within the required timeframe, Identify faults, determine the cause and readjust the equipment/process, Operating different types of machinery on the shop floor, Saw, Drill, Hydraulic Press, Mobile plant Forklift/Sideloader, Over Head Cranes Qualifications

Experience working within a Production Environment and/or Railway Industry would be advantageous, but not essential,

3+years Production Experience desirable,

Knowledge and Experience of various measuring equipment would be advantageous,

FLT License & Over-Head Crane Experience would be advantageous, but training and certification will be provided,

Ability to interpret engineering drawings and work to the instructions,

Ability to use measuring instruments,

Experience with Heavy component machining (Highly desirable),

Ability to work in line with production schedules,

Meet daily/weekly/monthly production targets,

Ability to diligently follow Health & Safety measures as this role is in a Safety Critical environment, working in close proximity to various moving mechanical parts, overhead cranes and mobile plant traffic,

Must be a self-starter, diligent, punctual and the ability to demonstrate strong initiative,

A keen eye for process optimisation and CIP activities,

Good communication skills and the ability to work well within a team,

All key discipline areas will require training and competence as part of the progression program.

What we Offer

Base Salary: GBP27,000 - GBP29,500 per annum (dependant on experience),

Core Hours: between 37hrs & 40hrs per week, shift pattern dependant,

Ability to Work up to 3-Shift Working Patterns: various patterns could be in operation,
