JOB PURPOSE Responsible for all day–to–day aspects of the company's production function. Responsible for coordinating key activities including recruitment, resource requirements, and performance management. Responsible for the delivery of jobs on time, on budget, and to the right quality, in line with Project requirements. Responsible for driving Quality and a "right first time" attitude to the Shop Floor processes and culture. Responsible for improvement and reporting of key metrics, including Safety, On time delivery / Cost / Quality metric / Productivity. Responsible for the onboarding of new resourcesJOB ACTIVITIES Deliver consistent operational execution for the Project Management function ensuring short–term and medium–term demands are met. Implement and measure suitable operational standards, processes, and procedures. Provide input and offer recommendations, where relevant, to existing programmes, projects, and processes. Ensure all operational plans are fully aligned to customer facing plans. Ensure all current IRIS/NAV are managed. Set and demonstrate the cultural standards to set the benchmark of best–in–class vision for the business. Work with Planning Manager to actively address any production capacity concerns or issues. Carry out coaching and mentoring of the Team Leaders, and other relevant shop floor staff. To monitor all Shop Floor Plant and Tools ensuring all equipment is available to deliver contracts on time and comply with the current PUWER and LOLLER regulations, including the identification of potential investment opportunities. Ensure lessons learned are captured, and fed back to the wider business and shop floor. Implementation and update of lean process and visual management into the Production environment. Ensure all welding activities are in line with, and working towards ISO 3834ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES Implement safety best practice to meet company and industry requirements. Lead by example on matters of QHS&E, welfare, and codes of conduct. Provide line management to the Team Leader team and ensure that administrative tasks relating to resource management are completed accurately and in a timely manner. Log and maintain accurate production hours to be sent to finance weekly. Provide picklists to the team when required to ensure the smooth running of the department in line with planning forecast. Work under his/her own initiative and shall be expected to guide and/or supervise staff. Work to attain optimum performance within the Production Department. Maximise the use of CDL management control and IT systems to ensure accurate and auditable project, job quality and material control. Ensure that the Head of Manufacturing is informed of developments and/or problems within the production Department, its supply chain and customers. Manage the resourcing strategy to ensure productivity & recovery targets are met Model tactical plans based on long term scenarios for over / under utilisationGENERIC RESPONSIBILITIES Promote and represent the company when required, setting a good personal example at all times. Develop, implement and manage KPI reporting process. Present results, analysis and recommendations to management when required Develop and manage all apprentices in line with apprentice framework according to the Head of Manufacturing's development plan Take all possible and reasonable steps to create a harmonious working environment using effective communication and team working techniques.
