Production Engineer - Based Poole

This is an exciting opportunity to work for a world leader in engineering who are seeking a Production Engineer who can demonstrate experience of working within an engineering/manufacturing organisation, excellent career prospects.
As a Production Engineer, you will be responsible for producing all relevant documentation, routings, procedures, tooling, and equipment to enable the successful manufacture and testing of various products, you will either focus on assembly and testing of the product or machining/automation.
You will support skilled operators with production of both prototypes and production products and consult with design engineering team to overcome production and testing issues.
An exceptional understanding of quality, safety, maintenance, machining, assembly, and test and support the development of assembly and manufacturing processes applying Lean and Continuous Improvement methodology, whilst targeting quality improvements, product cost reduction and applying Health & Safety best practice.
Ability to evaluate processes, instigate continuous improvement, and design jigs and fixtures using CAD (preferably 3D) for use in the machine shop, assembly, and test areas, to ensure ease, consistency of manufacture, error proofing and by following lean principles.
Able to demonstrable experience in programming and setting 4/5-axis CNC machines with ability to produce CNC programs using CAM software.
Candidate
Qualified to HNC level (or equivalent) or actively working towards a Mechanical or Production Engineering qualification or qualified by experience. Experience the use of continuous improvement tools and techniques such as e.g., VSM, SMED, TPM, Kaizen, 5S, Error Proofing Root Cause, PFMEA etc.Conversant with design for manufacture, lean manufacture value analysis and value engineeringGood project management skills using Microsoft Office SuiteAbility to organise and plan effectively to manage timeA good collaborator, self-motivated to deliver and be responsible for projectsExcellent communication and organisational skills Duties
Liaise and work with suppliers to provide test equipment capable of testing product to customer requirements whilst ensure the safety of personnel is not compromised.Able to produce documentation for assembly processes such as test procedures, FAT documents and welding qualification records.Use CAM software, you will produce programs, tool-sheets, and set-up sheets for a variety of multi-axis CNC machines, including 5-axis turn-mill, sliding head turn-mill and 5-axis milling.
