An innovative and world class fire detection manufacturer is recruiting for a Production Engineer to join their small family owned business based in the Rotherwas area of Hereford on a permanent basis.In this Production Engineer role you will be working Monday to Friday 8.30am - 4pm (40 hours per week). The role offers a salary GBP35-40k dependent on experience.As Production Engineer you will be working in a team of 6 consisting of Production Managers, Production Operatives and the R&D team reporting to the Chief Operation Officer with the following responsibilities: Implementation of continuous improvement activity within productionSupport and improve production activity liaising with R&D department and production teamFault finding on PCBs building a history of faults for future referenceDeal with customer returns, raise tickets and conduct diagnosticsMaintain production testing equipment, specifications, and softwareCommission new test fixtures and maintenance of existingUndertake root cause analysis (FMEA) on all production failures liaising with the Production Manager and R&D to implement corrective actionsCreate documentation to support production, defining and documenting rework activitiesUndertake the design and assembly of test fixtures or production test equipmentAssist with the analysis and planning of production workflows, layout, and process definition to maximise manufacturing efficiency and reduce failuresWorking with suppliers to resolve supplier issues relating to plastics, wire harnesses and PCBs. We are really keen to hear from applicants with the following skills and experience: Previous experience working as a Production Engineer within a manufacturing environmentHNC / HND or similar or equivalent industrial experience in an Electronics related field (desirable)Ability to read and understand schematics and relate this to the layout of PCBsDemonstrable working experience of performing root cause analysis of PCB failuresDemonstrable working experience of soldering, measurement with DMMs, Bench PSU and OscilloscopesExperience of FMEA (Failure Mode Effects Analysis), Kaizen/A3 (continuous improvement and problem solving) process improvement and Poka Yoke (error proofing) techniques.Able to use CAD - MCAD and ECAD (desirable)Experience of implanting automation in a production environment (desirable)Experience of working with and modifying Databases - Azure/AWS/Access or similarGood IT skills (Excel, Word) Benefits include: 25 days annual leave plus bank holidaysPensionFree parkingBirthday off Please apply today or call us to discuss this Production Engineer role in more detail!
