Working with global manufacturers, leading high street retailers, and internal buying and sales teams, you will play a key role in delivering products to market which meet international safety standards. You will be responsible for managing the overall product compliance and quality assurance processes, and will have solid knowledge of product safety standards and technical requirements.
The successful candidate will be highly organised, proactive, a team player, and have a genuine love of product. You will have a background working within product compliance or quality assurance within consumer goods, and experience working with global factories.
Duties & responsibilities for this Product Technologist role will include: Work closely with the buying department during early stage development, to ensure product specifications can meet required safety standards and mitigate riskLiaise with both domestic & international Testing Labs, ensuring relevant tests are carried out and certification is obtainedReview product & packaging artwork from a compliance / technical perspectiveWork closely with the Far East office across both the product testing process and factory auditsEnsure all required testing and certification is carried out in line with the critical path to ensure swift and timely delivery to marketMaintain technical files/database, ensuring all test reports and certification is up to dateCreate and organise declarations of conformityKeep abreast of regulation changes relevant to the business and its productsWork with the warehouse on QC, looking at any customer returns, and identifying and rectifying any issues Experience & skills required: Experience within a Product Technologist, QA, QC, or Regulatory Compliance position within consumer goodsGood working knowledge of product safety and compliance standards for UK, EU & US marketsAn excellent multi-tasker, able to manage multiple projects simultaneously and who thrives in a fast paced role and environmentDetail oriented, with excellent numerical and analytical skillsA proactive approach and a natural problem solverStrong MS Office skills, including ExcelA good communicator and relationship builder, both internally & with external parties including factories and retailers
