About Us:
A UK fertiliser manufacturer who sells into the amenity turf market and ornamental horticultural market.
The Role:
This role would be ideal for a science-based graduate looking for a career in sales and product development.
The role is to cultivate existing clientele, find and develop new sales of specialist fertilisers into the sports turf and associated markets and to then manage and develop those customer accounts.
It is also expected that, where there is a match to the candidate's skills, experience and geographical circumstances there will be international travel to develop new, as well as existing, overseas markets.
Job Responsibilities:
To develop and manage specialist fertiliser distributor sales accounts within selected geographic regions
To seek and engage with potential new specialist fertiliser sales accounts
To convert prospects into live customers
Develop and present credible customer facing sales materials.
Learn and understand the business processes in order to ensure that customer demand is satisfied.
Develop sufficient technical know-how to have high levels of credibility with the customer base
The job holder will report to the Sales and Marketing Director
The role will be accomplished principally by attending customer sites, shows and seminars.
Once the induction period is successfully completed, it is expected that there will be an element of remote working.
Desired Skills and Experience:
The candidate will be educated to degree level in a relevant science-based subject and have the ability to learn and understand soil related chemistry/biology and agronomy. They will also have excellent interpersonal and presentation and IT skills. This will include the ability to engage with social media and modern technology, in order to actively and positively promote the company and its products.
The job holder will demonstrate a keen desire to be successful in the sales role and in providing valued and honest technical advice to clients. A key skill will include an ability to win attention from prospective customers, to be able to present a professional and trustworthy persona, and to understand how to solve prospective customers issues and get them on board and actively purchasing.
In addition, it is expected that the job holder will actively contribute to the development of online material for the Academy.
A keen desire to achieve in a sales environment is seen as being essential. Where necessary, education and training will be provided to enhance skills.
It is most important that the job holder has the right attitude and ethos to both be respected by the customer for honest integrity and technical expertise, as well as fitting into a tightknit high performing sales team.
Candidate Requirements:
A team player with good time management and self-motivation
Must be happy to travel across the UK and also with some international travel to develop or service overseas markets
Must be an excellent communicator with strong interpersonal skills in both written and verbal formats
You will have a commercial desire that aligns with the company aims to quickly increase profitable sales, through the provision of high-quality products and superior customer service.
A current driving licence is essential.
Salary Package:
Up to 28,000 + Company Car/Car Allowance + Bonus
