Role Purpose

Supply Chain continues to evolve, and we now have fresh challenges to meet. This is a newly defined role to deliver procurement expertise and leadership around the technology products and services that we utilise, deploy and sell to our customers. You will be joining an expanding business and working with current and new suppliers to ensure we meet our customers' expectations and our revenue targets.

This is a role suited to an individual who thrives in an environment where challenges are welcomed not avoided. You will need to be comfortable with thinking independently and assessing what our clients and their customers need today and for the years ahead. You will enjoy building strategic initiatives, addressing the tactical demands of the business, along with uncovering and analysing data to bring insights to the business and suppliers' performance.

Our client offers a hybrid working arragnement of 3 days from home, 2 days in the office

Key Accountabilities

Development and implementation of strategic sourcing and category management for technology-centred goods and services; including satellite hub platforms and terminals, ground earth stations, networking, ICT, software and cloud deployments, system integrators and outsourcing.Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to understand key requirements (for our clients and their customers) to develop, initiate and deliver sourcing and category strategies.Provide leadership in engaging with current and new suppliers, providing stakeholders with an optimised commercial environment to adopt new solutions in a secure, high-performing and affordable way.End-to-end management of supplier contracts; from implementation to ongoing performance management - including understanding Total Cost of Ownership.Proactively manage, report and optimise third-party spend and suppliers' performance - implementing Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) where appropriate.Manage supply chain risks and ensure security of supply/ business continuity.Contribute to company strategy through the understanding of our carbon footprint and defining action plans internally and with suppliers to meet agreed targets.Develop deep global knowledge of suppliers, industry trends, emerging markets and technology to inform and influence supplier and technology selections.Work with sales and functional heads to identify and plan for sourcing activities and delivery timescales. Skills & Qualifications

Essential:

Experience in strategic sourcing and procurement across telecommunications or similar technology-led industry.Broad knowledge and experience of sourcing networking, hosting (PoPs) and/or ICT goods and services.Proven experience of defining then implementing sourcing strategies, category strategies and/or SRM.Excellent negotiation capabilities (methodologies and emotional intelligence) and commercial acumen.Strong interpersonal, communication and stakeholder management skills - with the ability to effectively engage and influence at all levels.Creative problem solver with an inquisitive mind-set.Well organised with proven experience of managing projects. Desirable:

Led or been heavily involved in developing and delivering new procurement capabilities and tools.Well established network of suppliers and relationships across telecoms and ICT industries.Knowledge and experience of working in the satellite industry.Knowledge and experience of software implementations and/or outsourcing projects.CIPS or other procurement/supply chain qualification(s) - or working towards.
