PRIVATE CHEF
Salary: circa £50,000
Location: Central London
Hours: Mon to Fri, full time (40 hours per week)
Position: Live-out, non-smoker
Family with young children in WC1 seeks chef to prepare healthy, delicious meals. Because the flat is small and the mother will be breast-feeding, we require a female chef.
Duties include:
--Menu-planning and grocery shopping at nearby Waitrose (the family enjoys a wide variety of cuisines, including: French, Italian, Japanese, Israeli and Scandinavian. They like to try new dishes rather than sticking to a rota).
--Preparation of fresh lunches for the mother and child at home (and packed school lunches for the older children), dinner and dessert. Plus, breakfast for the next day. Extra food is made on Fridays for the weekend.
--Organization and cleaning of the kitchen
--Chef with advanced baking skills preferred (able to handle sourdough, brioche, laminated doughs, etc.)
--Attention to detail is essential. Ability to work with metric and imperial weights, as well as the American cup system. Also, to keep equipment separate so that a strawberry tart does not taste like garlic because the same chopping board was used.
--Flexibility is crucial since the family leads a busy lifestyle. The chef needs to be able to adapt to last-minute changes.
