Principal Ecologist
Location: Milton Keynes
Salary: 40,000 - 45,000 (negotiable)
As a Principal Ecologist, you will play a pivotal role in our multidisciplinary team, providing expertise in ecological assessments, environmental impact assessments, and biodiversity conservation.
You will be collaborating with professionals from various disciplines to ensure the integration of ecological considerations into a wide range of projects and mentor more junior members of the team.

Qualifications & Experience
Have a bachelor's degree or equivalent in ecology or a related field.Possess or be working towards a Class 2 bat survey licence, as well as experience with development licence applications and monitoring.CIEEM Associate or Full membership is held or sought.A thorough understanding of wildlife legislation and the planning process, as well as habitat and protected species surveying-Biodiversity is well understood. Net Gain assessments with a firm grasp on the Defra MetricExperience with project management, price quotations, and outstanding report writing skills are required.Computer abilities, particularly the use of QGIS mapping and bat call analysis software, are required.The ideal candidate will have knowledge of mitigation and prior successful submission of development permits for these species, as well as experience with survey licences for great crested newts and bats; individuals approaching this level of experience would be taken into consideration. In addition to preparing ecological impact assessments and ecology chapters for use in environmental impact assessments and have prior experience conducting biodiversity net gain assessments using the DEFRA metric v3.1.
