Description

The GLA is looking to recruit two exceptional candidates to provide secretariat and clerking support to GLA mayoral and MOPAC (Mayor’s Office for Policing and Crime) boards.

You’ll be joining a high-performing team at City Hall with an excellent reputation. As well as mayoral and MOPAC boards, the wider team provides secretariat support to the London Assembly, Transport for London, London Legacy Development Corporation and Old Oak and Park Royal Development Corporation. It’s an exciting working environment with great scope for professional development.

You will play a key role in local democracy, dealing with senior politicians, board members and GLA stakeholders in a fast-paced environment. You’ll often see the work you’ve been involved in covered in the media on your way home.

You need a proven track record of:

managing formal meetings involving decision-making processes in a high-profile, complex organisation

interpreting and applying governance best practice and frameworks

dealing effectively with senior stakeholders

consistently meeting demanding deadlines in a pressurised environment.

We need people who get the big picture but see the small but vital details at the same time. You will be able to work quickly across a range of issues and relish a challenge. Excellent written communication skills, and the ability to liaise with senior staff and politicians with tact and diplomacy, are essential.

If you have a question about the role or would like to discuss it informally, please feel free to contact Eleanor Lloyd at eleanor.lloyd@london.gov.uk to arrange a call.
