Manage the media desk, acting as first point of contact and respond in a timely manager to requests. Initiate and steward relationships with journalists and other potential media partners. Develop and deliver proactive media activities to raise the profile of the hospice. Produce appropriate copy for the charity's earned and owned communications channels, inducing drafting and distributing press releases, letters to editor and articles, adapting existing case–study material where appropriate. Develop and deliver a proactive media plan for the charity that maximises opportunities to meet the charity's goals and those of specific teams. (PR) Job Responsibilities:
Work with the Director of Fundraising & Communications and Head of MarComms to develop and deliver a public relations strategy that supports the charity's objectives.Devise and deliver public awareness campaigns to increase brand and cause awareness, educate target audiences and achieve specific objectives. Support the Head of MarComms in the development of a rolling 'content calendar' that delivers on audience awareness and engagement KPIs. Work with those we support to gather case studies, adhering to the charity's ethical storytelling policy when doing so. Skills and Experience:
Proven track record in devising delivering high–impact PR programmes across multiple channel, increasing audience awareness and engagement Proven experience of successfully coordinating a busy media office, securing high profile coverage Proven experience of stewarding relationships with journalists, and other influential partners Excellent writing and proof–reading skills, with the skill to spot, and tell a good story, to help a variety of different audiences do the same Work collaboratively across teams to create the most appropriate media story to support the aims of the charity.
