Investigator - PPU

Red Snapper Managed Services (RSMS) are supporting a criminal justice project which involves the participation as an investigator into high volume crime and Child Abuse cases within the public protection unit and across the CID teams based on the Island of Jersey.

Requirements

We are providing support to the Public Protection Unit (PPU) by delivering a full investigation service from end to end.

You will be employed by RSMS on a contract of service term for a fixed period.

You will be responsible for the initial investigation, ongoing investigation plan and subsequent case file to take the prosecution forward. You will support supervisors by providing relevant information about the case in order to plan next steps and will be competent as a PIP 2 investigator having worked in PPU setting previously.

ABE trained is a must and SCAIDIP would be advantageous.

Key Accountabilities:

Review and investigate allocated cases as directed by the Supervising officers.

To prepare statements and interview's in line with current policy and procedures.

To exhibit and record evidence as per policy and procedures.

To undertake detailed ABE interviews on behalf of the unit as directed by the Supervising officer.

To prepare cases for prosecution to a high level.

Undertake administrative and clerical duties as directed in support of PPU/CID investigations.

Where necessary, locate, review and record materials for disclosure, linking to other areas, to ensure that all materials are appropriately reviewed and actioned as part of the disclosure process.

Required Practitioners: highly experienced and skilled PIP 2 investigators with previous exposure to ABE interviews and Child Protection cases. Major crime experience and varied CID backgrounds will be considered on merit.

Project Length: 3 months (extendable)

Project Start: ASAP subject to vetting

Pay Rate: GBP210 per day PAYE plus holiday and on island allowances up to GBP23 per day.

Vetting: Must pass NPPV2 vetting
