Play Manager Annual Salary: GBP12.50 – GBP14.50 per hourLocation: To be confirmedJob Type: Part–time (23 hours per week during term time, with the opportunity for more hours during holidays) As a Play Manager, you will be responsible for the day–to–day running of the club, including administrative duties. You will provide leadership to your team, organise and plan play and leisure activities for children before and after school, and during school holidays. You will also be an advocate for children's play, ensuring they are safe and happy.
Day–to–day of the role:
Setting up the club to create a safe and secure play environmentManaging the online booking systemOrganising settling in sessions for new childrenAttending events held by the host school to represent the clubPromotional activities to encourage new families to bookSupervising children effectively to ensure they are safeProviding support, guidance and leadership to the teamSupporting a variety of play opportunities for children aged 4 – 11 yearsParticipating in children's play as and when requested by the childrenOverseeing the evaluation of activitiesCompleting admin duties as requested by the Regional Manager or DirectorsEnsuring the club follows company policies and procedures, as well as all other legal requirementsEncouraging children to participate in new activities to expand their interestsCelebrating diversity and promoting inclusive practiceUpdating the club's inventory and maintaining resources Required Skills and Qualifications:
NVQ Level 3 in Playwork/Childcare or other equivalent training, with at least one year's experience in a leadership/management roleExcellent organisational skillsGreat leadership qualitiesThree years' previous childcare and/or Playwork experienceConfidence to lead a team through an Ofsted inspectionBuilding positive and professional relationshipsCaring and sensitive to children's individual needsExcellent Knowledge and understanding of the Ofsted Welfare Requirements, including the EYFSActive and energetic. Prepared to get involved in children's playExcellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with sufficient understanding of English to ensure the well–being of the childrenTeam player and ability to use initiativeFlexible and reliableCritical thinking and problem solving.
