We are recruiting a Planning Manager to work for a large Manufacturing company based in Stourport on Severn.The role will be responsible to the Manufacturing DirectorThe main objective of the role is to have ultimate responsibility for the professional production planning and scheduling system with reference to capacity and to meet customer expectations on timely delivery by performing the following duties. Planning and prioritising operations to ensure maximum performance and minimum delay. Ultimately responsible for on time and in full deliveries to customers.The main duties will be : Become fully conversant with the company's products both in terms of their build structure and capabilities.Develop a good awareness of the manufacturing machinery in all departments and their capacities.Check and approve all issues to works departments from the planning team.Liaise with Sales and Contracts departments to determine customer requirementsAccurately predict how long each job/project will take to completeDevelop a production schedule detailing all tasks and when they should be completed to meet predicted completion dateMonitor each job/projects progress through the relevant departments to ensure it is following the scheduleTroubleshoot problems that occur during production including staff shortages and machinery breakdown. Investigate all customer complaints and discuss findings with Manufacturing DirectorForecast manning requirements for all projects including the movement of internal labour and requirements for external labour.Prepare and submit status and performance reports and have regular production update meetings with Management including suggestions of ways to improve efficiency.Obtain overtime hours from time sheets and reconcile with the authorised overtime from the Manufacturing DirectorApprove holidays having consulted planners.Gain a full understanding and command over the Companies computer system in the areas that relate to your specific role and look for improvements.Organise all paperwork and maintain recordsProvide full job cover for colleagues/subordinates in their absence.Monitor and control all relevant procedures to Quensh The successful candidate will have the following skills Excellent communication skills Previous experience in a similar role Competent in Outlook, Excel and Sage (preferably Sage 200) Can do attitude Team player Good attention to detail" Highly organised with an eye for detail A good energy and enthusiasm In return the company will provide 25 days holiday, state of the art equipment and an order book up to 2025.
