Planning Manager Cheltenham GBP37,000 – GBP45,000 PermanentWe are seeking an experienced and proactive Planning Manager to join a well–established manufacturer in Cheltenham.As a Planning Manager, you will be responsible for developing business processes in production and planning, ensuring better customer service, improved efficiency, reduced inventory, and cost savings. Leading the planning team, you will coordinate efforts between the Sales, Production, and Planning teams to maintain an effective overall plan.If you are a dynamic individual with leadership experience in planning, inventory management, and driving process improvement, we want to hear from you.Reporting to: Operations ManagerMain Responsibilities of the Planning Manager: Provide effective leadership to the Planning functions.Lead the Sales and Operations Planning processes for efficiency and exceptional customer service.Measure and monitor On–Time–In–Full (OTIF), driving improvement with a target of >95%.Manage inventory levels, focusing on maximising customer service while optimising inventory.Define and implement lean inventory reduction programs across the supply chain.Promote a safety–first culture within the areas of responsibility.Collaborate with other UK planning department heads to enhance the use of the AX system for product fulfilment.Conduct regular production meetings with the wider team. Leadership Duties: Understand, embrace, and act in accordance with core values and beliefs, ensuring adherence within the team.Comply with the code of conduct and ensure adherence within the team.Complete relevant compliance training and procedures for self and team members.Lead the recruitment and selection of new team members, conducting local inductions.Establish effective communication channels within the team, cascading key messages.Ensure team members have the necessary information and tools for effective job performance.Address employee grievances, conduct performance reviews, and escalate issues when necessary.Take proactive responsibility for improving KPIs, providing data for management. Experience of the Planning Manager: Proficiency in Microsoft AX and Excel.Leadership experience in planning teams.Experience in inventory management/reduction and service improvement.Experience driving business change through process improvement.Experience in forecasting and offshore purchasing.
