To learn to play an instrument is one of the most rewarding skills anyone can learn: it is learning to speak another language. Everyone is a musician - it is in all of us, yet it must be brought out. I believe that it is of utmost importance to learn not only how to play an instrument but to learn how to be a musician. I have had many teachers in my life and only one has truly inspired me - this being the only one I enjoyed - and the progress I made with this teacher was incredible as compared to the rest. This teacher did not only teach me how to play classical pieces, nor how to mindlessly practise scales; he taught me to find my own voice in music and to love the instrument. Music is now everything in my life - I lead my own jazz project called Josef Akin, I am constantly playing and making music in many other bands which perform both in Glasgow and all over the country. I would love to share this passion with others and try to inspire others to find the joy for music that I have, that, as I say, I know is inside of everyone. The piano is a fascinating instrument that has so much to offer - I would love to teach you!
I will teach - based on what you want:

My name is Joseph Pimenta-Benn. I'm a 29 year old from London living in Glasgow, having studied here. I am very friendly and patient and have multiple years' experience in teaching people of all ages.
It is never too late to learn an instrument, so whether you are young or old or somewhere in between, and would like to have some fun on the piano, please get in contact (even if you would just like a chat!) - my email is in the link.
I will charge £35 for an hour lesson, or £30 for 45 minutes, or £25 for 30 minutes. I can travel to you, or alternatively I can teach from my own flat in Govanhill, where I have a lovely piano. Whichever suits you best, I'm sure we can make it work.
I hope to hear from you soon!
