Job Title: Personal Assistant/Support worker
Location: Eastbourne, East Sussex
Hourly rate: £13 + mileage expenses @45p per mile

Hours/shifts: 6 hours per week. 2 days per week, afternoons.
Summary
My 18-year-old daughter is looking for a chatty, confident PA/Support worker to share her interests, build her confidence to get out and about.
She is a highly intelligent and creative person; she enjoys anime and cosplay, making model houses and is learning Japanese! She also loves writing and she is currently writing a fantasy book! A creative PA is a must for this role. If you love sewing, she would really like to learn!
My daughter as autism and has selective mutism. Social communications can be tricky for her. She can find it difficult speak, but being patient, giving her time to talk and feel relaxed is key. She also has seizures, controlled with medication. Training in seizure and first aid can be provided.
It is important to have a PA who connects with her on her level and speaks to her like a young adult.
Other Requirements
• Must be comfortable with pets
• Must be happy to work in a smoking environment (other members of the family smoke outdoors)
If required, be willing to undertake training for the role

Typical duties
Social:
Accompanying and/or participating when accessing social and leisure e.g. animal related activities, cinema, walks
Expanding her horizons by suggesting ideas for experiences/activities/groups etc. e.g craft/ sewing classes and encouraging her to try new things.
Working with my daughter to planning sessions e.g. where to go together and when to go.
The above duties will involve driving my daughter in your car
Lifting the folding wheelchair in/out of car, pushing my daughter’s manual wheelchair when out.
When supporting at home, plan and participate in activities/hobbies linked to my daughter’s interests.
Wellbeing
Develop a good understanding of my daughters needs and how to best support her.
Encourage but not push her to access activities/experiences.
To call emergency services if a seizure happens.
