Job Title: Personal Assistant

Hourly rate: £14.01 per hour

Hours/shifts: Fixed regular weekly hours on evenings and weekends. Additionally, we have maternity cover shifts available on Monday - Friday 6am-8am. There will also be ad hoc shifts for holiday cover, evenings and when we attend medical appointments.

Summary

We are a family of four with a 7 year old daughter, a 10 year old son and a cat and dog. Our son is severely disabled and we use funding through West Sussex County Council and Sussex Community NHS Children's Continuing Care to pay for carers/Personal Assistants and we are looking to add to our team, this can be a single person or multiple people.

He is a full time wheelchair user and we have hoisting in the house to help with this. He has a feeding tube into his stomach which we give food and medications, he has medicine very frequently throughout the day. He can't talk or hold up his head, but he can smile and has a very cheeky personality. Underneath all this he is just a little boy who loves being outside, Harry Potter and animals.

We can provide training on all the medical elements and we would be your employers so tax & NI is included in the hourly rate. We will require you to complete a DBS.

The successful applicant will be:

Hygienic, tidy minded and well organised

Fit and healthy to undertake the required duties

Honest and cheerful

Able to speak and read English to a reasonable standard

Legally permitted to work in the United Kingdom

Able to work at all times to high standards of Health & Safety

Previous experience preferred but this is not as essential as a kind and common sense approach to these roles.
