My story
Meet Peanut Better, a 1-year-old Shepherd mix.Peanut Butter and 3 other dogs were surrendered to Yakima animal control.
It is the shelters understanding that the owners were over their limit of dogs and not able to care and contain so many pets. These dogs are all under socialized and appear to have been living outside. They are not too sure about leashes but like treats and respond well to kind words and pets.
Each dog is too large to share a kennel but it is likely that they would do better in homes that can provide them with K9 companionship. These young dogs need some TLC but they are already responding well to staff and soak up attention like sponges.
We expect they will make the best family pets, rescued animals always do!If you are interested in adopting this pet please fill out an adoption questionnaire at A Yakima Humane Society staff member will contact you once your questionnaire has been processed. Adopters are welcome to visit the adoption center Monday-Saturday. A Picture says 1000 words...right? While an animal's picture draws interest, the reality is that as a potential adopter most people would like as much information as possible about a pet. The Yakima Humane Society is an open admission shelter. What does this mean? Over 90% of the pets at the adoption center arrive as strays, no history of behavior or medical care is known. Adding a pet to your family is a big responsibility. Please research carefully and remember that adoption is life saving. Adopt Don't Shop.
If you have any questions or would like to adopt Peanut Butter, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
