Part-time Junior Gardener

An opportunity has arisen for a passionate and enthusiastic part-time junior gardener

with previous gardening experience, to work under the senior gardener of a private

estate near Banbury.

The sizeable property consists of formal gardens, water gardens, woodlands,

meadow, kitchen/cutting garden, herb garden and greenhouse.

Applicants should enjoy working outdoors in all weather and be physically fit. Eager

to learn and happy to follow instructions this is an excellent opportunity for someone

looking to work their way towards formal horticultural qualifications.

We are looking for someone who is happy to work on their own, as well as with a

small team.

Responsibilities:

 Raising plants from seeds or cuttings

 Digging, planting and weeding, flower beds and borders

 Looking after the appearance of plants and the surrounding landscape

 Pruning shrubs and trees

 Watering

 Checking the health of plants and controlling pests

 Cleaning and maintaining gardening equipment.

Specific duties

 Watering, border maintenance, planting and pruning as required.

 Maintain the greenhouse and vegetable garden.

 Maintain written records of the main work performed.

 Work collaboratively with colleagues as part of a professional team.

 Ensure compliance with all Health and Safety legislation and regulations and

that all work undertaken is carried out safely, including work by contractors.

 Identify and participate in appropriate training in order to maintain the

requirements of the post, including health and safety.

 Act in a responsible and professional manner at all times.

This is a live out position.

HOURS: 3 days per week

HOLIDAYS: 12 days paid holiday

SALARY £15,000
