The UK Partner Office is a dedicated function to support the PwC partner group. The Partner Admissions team within the Partner Office is responsible for all new Partners joining the UK firm, both internal and direct admissions. The Direct Partner Admissions team leads the recruitment and admissions process for all direct entry partner hires.
The role of the Direct Partner Admissions team is to identify, recruit and integrate high quality partners who will add significant value to the partnership and swiftly become commercially successful in their role. Our Partner Recruitment and Talent Intelligence capability has evolved significantly in recent years, and currently delivers market leading research and intelligence, executive search, candidate experience, and recruitment and integration processes to support the direct hiring of partners into the firm across all of our Lines of Service and strategic growth areas. The team has delivered record numbers of partner level hires, while delivering significant cost savings through an increased number of direct hires and better managed supplier relationships. They have also made significant process improvements in how the firm finds, attracts, assesses and integrates partner level talent, all while keeping the candidate and stakeholder experience, and market reputation of the firm, at the core of what the team delivers.
Partner Recruitment Lead
This is a mid-senior level role reporting to the Head of Partner Admissions. The Partner Recruitment Lead will work closely with the Partner Search and Intelligence Lead and the Direct Partner Admissions Lead to coordinate and drive the research, talent identification and recruitment for partner level candidates. The Partner Recruitment Lead is responsible for coordinating the activity of the Partner recruitment and Talent intelligence team to ensure all senior level talent needs are being executed upon in an efficient and effective manner. They will work closely with Line of Service leadership to identify senior talent needs, support the Partner Search and Intelligence Lead in the delivery of research and insights to inform strategic recruitment conversations, and both directly deliver, and coordinate the team's delivery of partner level recruitment processes where there are agreed business needs. They will support the Direct Admissions Lead in ensuring the successful integration of all partner level candidates, and in the development and delivery of board level reporting to reflect the team's activity.
Key responsibilities include:
Team leadership
Coordinate recruitment activity in the team, as a boutique in house search agency, to meet business priorities; ensuring all partner level recruitment requirements have had a full, diverse search, and helping to drive down agency usage.
Coach and develop the team in research, search, talent identification and candidate/ recruitment process management.
Promote a culture of high quality and integrity throughout the team, ensuring all team activities are focused on getting the right partner level capability into the firm.
Business partnering
Senior level business engagement around partner hiring needs and approach, driving a focus on engagement with the market, insights development and candidate generation xLoS.
Ensure all Lines of Service have a central point of contact for activity relating to partner level recruitment, and act as that point of contact for a number of the Lines of Service directly.
Lead business case kick off meetings with hiring partners for defined business case needs, ensuring the purpose and approach of the search and recruitment process is clear and it is well executed.
Build a network within the business, including with senior leadership, to socialise the capabilities of the team and continue to build the team's profile within the firm.
Partner recruitment delivery
Lead Research, Search and Recruitment specialists to provide appropriate support for a portfolio of partner level recruitment requirements across the Lines of Service.
Ability to be hands on in the delivery of research, search, and end to end recruitment processes, including integration planning.
Ensure a high level of quality in delivery of searches, recruitment, and integration processes, keeping the stakeholder and candidate experience at the forefront of delivery.
Manage agency strategy, including agency selection, usage and ongoing agency relationships where required, including commercial agreements, PSL management and delivery quality control.
Provide dedicated support to the partner's sponsoring new partner level hires, helping them to understand their role and guiding effectively through the end to end process, from business case development to integration.
MI and Reporting
Work with the Direct Partner Admissions leader to deliver insightful leadership and board reporting for firmwide partner recruitment activity e.g. Partner Matters Committee, Partner Affairs Committee, Commercial Strategy Teams, Clients & Markets Executive, Leaders of Industry
Drive digital efficiencies in all MI and reporting
Ensure each Line of Service centrally has access to an overview of the partner recruitment activity in their business
Ensure each strategic research project, active search, and recruitment process has appropriate supporting documentation
Essential skills & experience
Relevant experience leading an in-house executive recruitment function, or in a tier 1 or tier 2 Executive Search firm team leadership role.
Executive recruitment subject matter expertise across search and processes, with a demonstrable commercial mindset
Prior experience in (preferred but not limited to) professional services, tax and/or legal services, private equity, financial services or the technology sector.
Prior experience managing a PSL of recruitment agencies, including commercial arrangements, working relationships and delivery quality.
Proven ability to remain agile, discrete and effective in an often ambiguous and sensitive environment.
Demonstrable experience of continuous improvement.
Well versed with tools for finding, engaging and managing senior level talent.
Ability to effectively manage multiple searches with a focus on diversity, equality and inclusion.
Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
