Responsibilities:
Comprehensive Assessments: Conduct thorough assessments to understand the physical, emotional, and psychosocial needs of palliative care patients.
Individualised Care Plans: Develop and implement personalised occupational therapy interventions, focusing on maintaining comfort, independence, and overall well-being.
Collaboration: Work closely with interdisciplinary teams, including physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals, to ensure coordinated and holistic care for patients.
Symptom Management: Address symptoms such as pain, fatigue, and mobility issues through tailored therapeutic interventions.
Support for Caregivers: Provide education and support to caregivers, empowering them to assist patients in maintaining optimal function and comfort.
Documentation: Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient assessments, interventions, and progress to facilitate seamless communication among healthcare team members.
Qualifications:
Occupational Therapy Expertise: Degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited programme with relevant licensure and certification.
Palliative Care Experience: Previous experience in palliative care or a related field is preferred.
Interpersonal Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
