An extraordinarily beautiful piece of art. This Ovation model is a DJ Ashba (currently with Guns n Roses) signature guitar, embellished by Michael Godard the man himself in 2010.

I am looking to part with this beauty, in the hope that the next owner will further properly use it.

It also comes with the Certificate of Authenticity, but also with the custom case related to this model only (see picture).

Only a handful of such pieces were painted by Michael Godard, and the Certificate of Authenticity signed in person at an art gallery in Nevada in 2010, proves it. It's also relief-star-stamped (if my terminology is correct). Seal says "Michael Godard Fine Arts Associates Ing. - Corporate Seal 2007 Nevada".

The fact that this one was hand finished by Godard can be noticed from how the olives and other stuff on the guitar's top (including his surname right below the fretboard) were indeed painted over afterwards. It's called "embellishment". But also from how well centered the framing of the drawing was kept. It's because they knew that a very small number was going to be delivered at that art gallery, for the man himself to finish them for the fans. Standard factory finished ones tend to eat up all the available top surface (see picture comparison - last pic collage), whereas this one has a nice all-around framing, where the painting is fading, in my opinion done with a filter around the image, meaning it's been fully centered with great care.

And also, please notice the hologram seal on the back of the headstock.

At the very same art gallery, DJ Ashba hand signed the Ovation case for it.

There's literally only a handful of these packages worldwide (really terrific guitar and case!).

To put it in the words of the Gallery director: There will be no more on this specific “Bone Yard Ovation Guitar” series as to our knowledge it’ssold out from Godard directly and his studios. Godard has painted on motorcycles, he’s painted on guitars, he’s painted on a few different other merchandise in the past, but each pieces comes on one at a time so no way for me to predict what he will do in the future. Another guitar would likely cost the same $6,000 - $10,000 price range either way from our assessment of Godard’s work.

It's a great player all around, and in an almost Mint condition.
