This painting is inspired by German expressionist artist Paula Modersoh-Becker and her most important work Self-Portrait at 6th Wedding Anniversary ; (1906). Her astonishing nude pregnancy self-portrait, which was one of many paintings she did that scandalised her contemporaries, is a radical visual record of motherhood, but also her own premature and tragic death.

A beautiful reinterpretation.

Comes unframed (but very easy too find a frame to fit a painting of this size).
