Clinical Optometrist Roles and Responsibilities

Assess and counsel patients for cataract surgery, including discussing expected outcomesEnsure patients understand risks and benefits of surgery with a considerate manner reflecting the patients' needsProviding reassurance from the start to the end of the patient journeyEnsuring post-operative management is undertaken with the support of medical staffUndertake YAG laser with training Clinical Optometrist Requirements

A GOC registered Optometrist with at least 12 months post-registration experienceMotivated to develop with a keen interest in the clinical side of optometryGood communication and strong interpersonal skillsExcellent organisational skills and attention to detailUnderstanding of clinical governance and ability to provide the highest quality of care to all patients Clinical Optometrist Benefits
