A leading lens manufacturer based in South Gloucestershire are looking to recruit a full time Optical Glazing Technician. The company has an excellent reputation for supplying high quality lenses into Opticians all across the UK.

The Role

Tracing frames, transferring shapes and Blocking lenses to customer requirementEdging on Manual edgers and assembly of Metal, Plastic, Supra and Rimless framesEdging and assembly of bespoke framesVerifying out completed orders to ISO standard and Customer requirementAchieving Department KPI's(glazing yield, Return Yield, Frame Breakage)Priortising orders by delivery dateSupporting colleague and team (In particular the Assembly Glazing team)Verifying in lenses to optical ISO standard and customer requirementRequirements

Previous experience working within an optical glazing laboratory environmentAbility to work as part of a team in a proactive and supporting mannerAbility to use manual focimeter to include marking up of lensesExtensive optical lens knowledgeExcellent practical knowledge of tracingExcellent organisational skillsAbility to prioritise and work to deadlines and targetsAttention to detailAbility to read and interpret alpha/numerical writing to an exceptional level of accuracyExcellent written and oral communication skillsThey currently have two different shift patterns available;

Mon to Fri - 8am to 4pm - 24,500 plus 6% bonus

Mon to Fri - 6am to 2pm, 2pm to 10pm - Bi weekly- 23,500 plus shift allowance ( 2040) + 6% bonus

The odd Sat is available and paid as overtime.
