A global manufacturer with multiple UK operations has a new vacancy for an Operations Manager to join the team. Responsible for improving productivity, driving continuous improvement and developing operational efficiency, candidates are sought with experience working in a complex manufacturing/engineering environment with a proven track record in a similar position.
Commutable from: Edinburgh, Glasgow, Motherwell, Falkirk, Bathgate, Dunfermline, Perth, Sterling.
Salary: Negotiable dependant on experience
Suitable for: Operations Manager, Operations Director, Site Manager, Plant Manager, General Manager, Business Unit Manager.
The Role
Work as part of the senior management team to ensure production is achieved in line with customer specifications
Be accountable for plant production, financial performance and meeting customer requirements
Ensure productivity level is achieved on a daily basis
Drive process improvements on Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE)
Produce written reports and make presentations
Identify and deploy the technical skill sets, resource levels and systems to deliver projects
Ensure that agreed customer delivery times are achieved and that customers receive a high standard of service at all times
Ensure that the business operates in accordance with all health, safety and environmental policies
Identify, create and develop improved layouts
Use lean manufacturing tools and techniques to develop and improve processes
Work actively with HR to attract, develop, retain, and motivate staff
Manage and lead the team and create a positive culture and atmosphere
Identify and complete training and development needs to achieve greater flexibility and improve the skill base.

Experience working in a complex manufacturing/engineering environment
Excellent management qualities, positively models behaviour and leads by example
Highest level of professionalism and integrity
Excellent communication skills - written, verbal, interpersonal and presentation
Analytical thinking
Proven track record of driving CI activities.
Ability to make decisions using own initiative.
