Purposes of the Post:
To provide dynamic operational leadership of the work and staff of The VCS Alliance.To be an active member of the Senior Leadership Team ensuring that the operational work of the VCS Alliance is informing strategic influencing and advocacy.To act as the Safeguarding and Complaints lead for the organisation.
Main Duties:
Leadership and management
An annual organisational plan is in place and enacted to enable the organisation to achieve its Aims and Objectives.An effective staffing structure is in place to meet the agreed commitments.A culture of honesty, respect, learning and growth is embedded across the organisation. 4. A communications plan is in place to engage with stakeholders effectively.Appropriate Policies and Procedures are in place to govern the operational practices of the organisation.
Contract and Partnership Delivery
Oversee and support the mobilisation of new partnership activity, managed by the Project Managers.Ensure all contractual arrangements with funders are appropriate and reflect required project delivery.Ensure all contractual arrangements with delivery partners are effective, proportionate and reflect delivery outcomes, and allocate appropriate risk between the VCS Alliance and delivery partners.Where required, to oversee the resolution of contract delivery issues.Where required, to oversee relevant comments, concerns and complaints associated with delivery.
Provider Engagement
Working collaboratively with the Development Director, ensure that prospective delivery partners are able to engage in and contribute to the development of partnership activity and future funding opportunities.Liaising with delivery partners to mobilise new partnership activity, ensuring partnership activity stays on track, and stepping in as necessary where things go wrong.
Compliance and Due Diligence
Oversee all contract and project delivery is compliant with all due diligence requirements. 2. Ensure the VCS Alliance is meeting all reporting and monitoring requirements.Ensure that all necessary processes and systems are in place and are operationally effective.Support the CEO with VCS Alliance governance Sub Committees and Board
Resources
Lead motivate and develop the workforce in an inclusive, positive and collaborative way.Lead on all aspects of Human Resources and Health and Safety with the support of appropriate specialists and other professionals.To lead on GDPR on behalf of the VCS Alliance.
Staffing
Line management and support for direct reports within the staff team, including the Project Manager Team, Insight, Data and Learning Manager and Assurance Manager. Following due process for supervision, appraisals etc.Working with SLT to ensure staff are supported to deliver work of a high standard.Working with SLT to ensure staff consider the VCS Alliance as an employer of choice.
