Description

Our Healthcare client in Manchester is seeking an Operations Director to join their growing team.

Operations Director Purpose:

To support the Chief Executive Officer and lead day-to-day operational delivery of high quality ISO17043 accredited genomics based External Quality Assessment (EQA) services provided by our client. To lead on Resourcing, Sales & Operational planning, Project management, Facilities management and maintenance, Procurement, Manufacturing, Distribution, Process Improvement and management of the associated contracting. The Role:

Leadership

Provide leadership for all aspects of day-to-day operational service delivery, including oversight of maintenance operations, capital requirements, planning and administration, safety and cost management, and demonstrating the flexibility required to deal with changes in priorities and/or numerous competing demands. Develop, improve and implement operational policy and plans to effectively manage resources, including staff, to ensure operational key performance indicators are met. Provide effective leadership and promote a positive culture which develops high performing and collaborative operational functions. Managerial

Oversee the strategic and day to day direction of all operational functions to support gross sales and ongoing reoccurring revenue streams. Identify key initiatives to drive year over year total cost improvements, using lean logistics principles and tools. Accountable for the delivery of products and services to customers and help the business grow, in line with its ambitious plans. Provide line management for the Operations Manager, Principle Scientific Programme Managers, Quality Manager, Health and Safety Officer, training Lead, and GDPR lead. Identify training, development, and mentoring needs for colleagues. General

Oversee the setting of objectives both for new projects, quality improvement and community interest/benefits (e.g., education). Comply with the policies and procedures of the company, by observing and adhering to local and national health and safety policies, maintaining good working relations with all members of staff, promoting effective teamwork, and treating everyone associated with the company participants with courtesy and respect, always maintaining and promoting the professional image of the business. Operations Director Previous experience:

Degree educated as a minimum ideally with a Masters in a relevant subject area. Strong background in Operations (manufacturing, logistics) and supplier management. Managerial experience with high levels of commercial operational awareness along with relevant experience of finance, sales and operational management. Operations Director Skills & Knowledge:

At least green belt Lean Six Sigma trained. Knowledge of IT and IT validation. Proven experience working within the Healthcare sector Affinity with quality, accreditation, Quality Management Systems (QMS), audits and knowledge of ISO standards. Highly developed interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate the organisations vision and values with colleagues, contractors and clients at all levels, as well as excellent organisational and time-management skills. Conceptual, strategic thinker with demonstrated ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Advanced analytical skills. Operations Director Key Personal Attributes:

Proven self-motivation and ability to work under pressure, often to strict deadlines and requiring flexible working and good prioritization of own workload. Strong work ethic, e.g., "roll-up-your sleeves" leader. Hands-on, customer driven focus. Ability to travel with nights away from home as and when required. Benefits:

Our client has a very flexible working policy with remote working offered for at least 2 days remote working each week. They have a very generous contributory rate (10%) to your company pension. All employees receive 27 days annual leave, plus bank holidays. This increases to 29 days (after 5 years service) and 33 days (after 10 years service). Ongoing professional education is important to the company, and they will ensure you have the training needed to undertake your role.
