Purchased brand new many years ago as a teenager interested in photography. This DSLR accompanied me many holidays/trips to several continents, but now selling to a good home ahead of a 2024 clear out. This would make a good first DSLR camera for someone starting out on or continuing a hobby. Sold as seen in the photos - it is in good working condition and there are a couple of marks and scratches here and there, as you would expect given its age. Not in original box but comes with a handy case - see below.
Package includes all the below which is more or less everything you need to get you started out - please take note on charging cable situation:
- Olympus E-510 camera with strap. Missing lens cover (to body) but always had a lens attached for protection.
- Two lenses as originally supplied by Olympus, with one original front protector (the other is missing, but see below). The lenses are 14-42mm and 40-150mm.
- Each lens has a HOYA UV protector screwed on (rather tight) probably bought on eBay a long time ago. I can throw in an unused and brand new UV protector as well if of interest. These were fitted from pretty much day one which means the lenses themselves have been protected from scratches etc, and so the additional Olympus lens cap only serves to protect the UV protector.
- Original flash hoods for lenses and which screw on the front.
- Two rechargeable batteries - both working condition. Not sure how much charge they’ll hold.
- Battery charger unit but UK charging cable not supplied. The only one I have is a US cable which I’m happy to include for a couple of extra £ together with a US to UK adapter. However, you might just want to buy a new UK cable outright to hook up to the battery charger.
- Two 4GB flash cards - one with some attempted initials but can't make them out / might come off with some elbow grease.
- Camera to USB cable - working (and needed these days given most computers/laptops these days won’t have the appropriate port for the memory card).
- Olympus e-system carry case which I would have bought second hand on eBay at some point. Missing body strap but does the trick for general storage. The case allows you to comfortably carry the DSLR unit with a lense attached, with a spare lens (and separate zip to the side for access). There is also a small pouch at the front which can carry a spare battery / memory card.
