The need is for you as an oil and gas lawyer to join the team as a legal counsel. As a legal counsel, you will help to advise the business on a wide variety of commercial contract matters, ranging from the negotiation matters of refined petrochemical products, by road, pipeline, and vessel, helping to join venture agreements. Are you a qualified solicitor/ lawyer with at least three years' PQE gained working within the legal profession at leading law firms, ideally with a background within the fuel industry? Your daily duties will include: Working with the internal business units to conclude any key contracts with our customers and suppliers.Assist with the management of our existing contracts, joint ventures, etc including interpretation issues, variations, and conflict resolution.You will be required to work with our project teams to close out strategically important contracts for transformational projects within the refinery.You will need to be flexible and pick up other commercial, finance, employment, governance, or regulatory legal issues and manage them to resolution.You will prepare advice notes and be able to communicate efficiently and effectively with stakeholders at all levels within our organization.Instruct and manage external legal counsel as required.Be aware of and brief the business on relevant legislative changes.You will manage or participate in legal projects to improve the delivery of advice, compliance, and legal services to the business.You will manage multiple internal stakeholders and conflicting demands effectively.You will be proficient with MS Office and related business software. You will have the following qualifications & experience: You will need to be solicitor qualified with at least 3 years PQE gained working within the legal profession at leading law firms and or/ excellent in-house teams.You will need to have a strong academic record and excellent commercial contract law experience. It's great if you also have the following: Ideally you will have experience of the downstream fuel industry, crude and finished products sale and purchase agreements, construction agreements, debt, and trade finance agreements, ISDAs, regulatory compliance and dispute resolution processes, however not essential.
