This is an opportunity for an Occupational Therapist to join this amazing private care home / village for the elderly. This is a well known insitute with royal connections, offering a village setting in vast grounds and facilities to its residents, which include lovely gardens, cafe, restaurants, bar, gym, etc. They also offer excellent care facilities and services to its pensioners. The Occupational Therapist will provide a highly skilled level of occupational therapy services to the pensioners, leading in dementia care, as an autonomous practitioner whilst observing the HCPC Standards of Professional Conduct.

Degree (or equivalent qualification) in Occupational Therapy & relevant professional registration.Registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and Royal College of Occupational Therapists (RCOT)Must have full right to work in the UK (unable to provide any sponsorship) & be living in the UK.Provision of skilled patient centred intervention to meet the identified treatment goals and use established outcome measures to measure effectiveness of intervention.Ability to engage and motivate pensioners to engage in therapeutic activities.Experience in carrying out a range of cognitive assessments.Ability to work as part of a team and as an independent therapist.Clinical experience in working with adults living with cognitive impairment/dementiaExperience in working with the elderlyAbility to identify unmet needs of the service user and refer on as appropriate. DUTIES TO INCLUDE:
Under the direction of the senior therapists, manage and take responsibility for occupational therapy caseload.To ensure that resources available are utilised, monitored and maintained. Equipment includes mobility aids, specialist seating, wheelchairs, sensory aids and specialist activity resources, which should all be assessed and prescribed with appropriate level of training and supervision.To act as the main therapist, contact for our dementia unit, triaging referrals, completing assessments and interventions as appropriate, working closely with the ward manager, ward staff, activity team and volunteers, with support from the wider therapy team.To be responsible for the assessment, planning and implementation of person–centred therapeutic activities for the pensioners with Dementia.To seek out innovative methods and evidence–based approaches to engaging In Pensioners living with Dementia.To plan and implement group sessions appropriate to the needs of the population which are recommended based on current guidelines. To review the success using outcome measures appropriately.To assist the Activity team with regular risk assessments when planning new activities, delegating activities to volunteers or when arranging outside trips or in–coming entertainers.Participate in Dementia education for pensioners and staff, collaborating where necessary with internal and external health professionals.Develop working relationships across agencies to include NHS and Local Authorities therapy providers including completion of onward referrals as appropriate.
