Role Title: Occupational Health Specialist
Location: Hybrid / Warwick (on-site twice per week) - Amazing on-site facilities including a well-equipped gym, free secure parking, large canteen and a retail park close by.
Duration: Initial 6 months - With extension and development prospects!
Rate: Circa 400 per day via Umbrella
ROLE OVERVIEW
The Occupational Health Specialist within the Asset team will be the Subject Matter Expert accountable for the design and delivery of a range of occupational health programmes and policies that deliver value and benefit for GT. Alongside this the Occupational Health Specialist will be expected to provide strategic guidance and expertise to proactively manage risk, meet legislative requirements, and provide reliable and objective overview on status and performance across GT. The role will also be accountable for GT's health surveillance (HS) programme and compliance with relevant health legislation for our work force, as well as supporting the business in ensuring they manage the outcomes of the HS effectively.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
Responsible for ensuring all occupational health risks within GT are well understood, assessed, and managed. This will include risks from our operational workforce, control rooms and office staff.Develop and deliver the strategy for the provision of occupational health policies, standards and high-level procedures to GT, ensuring they meet legislative requirements and business needs.Collaboratively engage the Occupational Health and Wellbeing service providers and use their expertise to support continual improvement.Own the implementation and monitoring of GT's health surveillance programme and help identify and deliver new and innovative approaches to the management of employee's occupational health risks in the workplace.Establish and manage an occupational hygiene monitoring programme for specific on-site hazards across GT with the support of third-party providers.Identify, interpret, and remediate emerging occupational health requirements which may impact the business.Support with the development of relevant training for employees/management on occupational health risks.Work closely with occupational health, rehabilitation, and employee assistance providers to provide a collaborative, innovative and co-ordinated programme of support and improvement.Develop and maintain a range of measures and key performance indicators that helps inform our performance in managing occupational health. Analyse trends and draw conclusions from these metrics to inform the business of future priorities and improvement areas.Provide pro-active and reactive information and advice to key stakeholders.
REQUIREMENTS
Registered General Nurse (RGN) or a relevant Occupational Health and Wellbeing undergraduate or master's degreeMember of relevant society (BOHS, IOSH etc)NEBOSH National General Certificate in Health and Wellbeing or NEBOSH National General Certificate in Health and Safety and/or BOHSValid current driving licenceExperience of delivering occupational health programmes, ideally within a large multi discipline corporate setting.Experience with engaging and influencing senior management, line managers, employee representatives and other specialists to support in designing and adopting new occupational health policies and procedures.Experience evaluating, analysing, and reviewing the effectiveness of occupational health programmes.
