Professional Telescope for Kids

This essential kids’ telescope uses fine-point adjustment across two axes: ascension (RA) and declination (DEC) – basically up and down, and left and right. The degrees are marked on both axes, creating a clear framework to start exploring the night sky.

Setting Up Your Telescope

Set to use these telescopes, we’d recommend setting up when you’re indoors, under a bright light. Then, take it outside, as it’s best not to view objects through windows. Let your telescope adjust to the outside temperature, as the lens may fog up, and set it up on a flat surface, with a wide view of the sky! Finally, choose the darkest spot available.

Installing Your Eyepiece

When choosing an eyepiece for your telescope, remember the lowest numbers have the highest magnification. Be sure to remove the dust cap from the lens, and start with the lowest power eyepiece for a wide view. For a closer look at an object you’ve found, switch to a higher power eyepiece. To focus, slowly adjust the focuser knob until you have just passed the best focus, then dial back to the best focus.
