Net Zero Transition Project Officer

Role Overview
The Project Officer role presents a unique opportunity for early-career professionals to actively contribute to the built environment sector's net-zero transition. Joining a passionate and growing team, you will engage with leading businesses, government entities, and stakeholders. This industry-facing position offers a chance to broaden your skill set in project management, stakeholder engagement, research, and knowledge sharing, providing valuable insights across the entire built environment value chain.
Key Responsibilities
Support the delivery of industry guidance on net-zero carbon buildings and assets through engagement with professional institutions, industry bodies, and members.Coordinate projects within the Advancing Net Zero program, including the development of plans and strategies.Facilitate stakeholder engagement using various methods, ensuring diverse viewpoints are considered.Present and advocate for the Advancing Net Zero program at external events and meetings.Lead the development of the Advancing Net Zero case study library, collaborating with members to gather and agree on case study content.
Communications and Engagement
Assist in organising dissemination activities, round tables, workshops, and other events.Support engagement activities such as forums, webinars, and workshops, including leading sections and setting agendas.Contribute to the planning and delivery of larger events and workshops.Manage communications with members and external stakeholders.Support marketing and communications efforts by contributing to content and preparing distribution lists.
Operational and Administrative
Provide administrative support for meetings and engagement activities, including diary coordination and note-taking.Share general administrative duties, including managing the Advancing Net Zero dashboard and responding to inquiries.Champion the organisational culture and values, actively contributing to team culture.Engage in departmental workshops and wider team meetings and events.Build relationships and enhance collaboration across the organisation.
Essential
Early career industry experience (likely 2+ years) in a sustainability-related role within the built environment.Proven interest in climate change and sustainability.Experience in detailed desk-based research.Knowledge of net-zero carbon in the construction and property sector.Proficient use of Microsoft Office programs.
Desirable:
Degree in a relevant sustainability or built environment-related subject.Professional qualifications in engineering, property, construction, or sustainability (e.g., ICE, RICS, IEMA).Knowledge of whole life carbon assessment of buildings.Stakeholder or client management experience.Proficient use of standard social media tools.Experience with Sales force or a similar CRM system.If you have any questions regarding this role, please get in touch for a confidential chat on the details below.
