Mobile Technician required to carry out maintenance and breakdown repairs to various fleets of diesel locomotives (trains)

Will require travel to various sites around the southern region of the UK
Shifts:
A mixture, of days, nights and weekends you must be flexible!
Due to the nature of the role, you may be required to work away, so must be flexible and willing to occasionally stay away from home.
Role and Responsibilities
Complete maintenance activities to locomotives and rolling stock. (trains)Troubleshoot using electrical schematics, test equipment, and diagnostic software, completing quality control.Undertake both electrical and mechanical repairs to fleets of trains.Carry out unsupervised tasks.Manage own diary effectively, ensuring all repairs, maintenance and exams are completed correctly and safely The Candidate
The ideal candidate will have previous maintenance experience, both electrical and mechanical with experience of fault finding on vehicles in a fast paced environment, e.g. rail, aerospace, automotive, military, HGV or marine.
The ideal candidate will have previous experience of working on diesel engines and a strong understanding of mechanical maintenance.
You will need to be a self-starter, able to work alone and to tight deadlines ensuring all relevant work is completed correctly.
Essential
Relevant experience in Diesel engines.Knowledge & experience in of mechanical and electrical repairs and inspections.Full UK Driving licence.Flexible, and able to adapt to changing circumstances.Excellent organisational and time-management skills.NVQ level 3 in engineering discipline Likely Job Titles:
