Howdens Joinery are looking for an experienced Manual Handling Equipment (MHE) Fleet Engineering Manager. This role could be based at any of our operational sites in Howden, East Yorkshire, Raunds, Northamptonshire, or Runcorn, Cheshire. Reporting to the Head of Maintenance, as MHE Fleet Engineering Manager, you will use your technical specialist expertise and ability to deliver on-going technical and strategic operational improvements.
As an MHE Fleet Engineering Manager, you'll drive added value for our business, managing a GBP3m yearly spend on a wide range of MHE such as Fork Lift Trucks, Reach Trucks, Order Pickers, and Hand Pallet Trucks, across our four sites. Your role involves strategic commercial use of MHE, engaging with stakeholders on technical matters, staying updated on regulations, and effectively communicating and building relationships with internal teams, operators, and suppliers.

What we're looking for:
Recognised MHE technical qualifications. Demonstrable fleet management experience with a strong track record in a high-volume multi-site commercial environment where safety is critical. Proven experience of working with stakeholders and managing MHE over multiple sites and positively influencing MHE effectiveness, utilisation, minimising damage reduction and the control of maintenance costs. Knowledge of KPI and SLA management and supplier contractual terms. Full clean driving licence.
