The car has been de-bumpered. Mileage 78,062. Regretfully having to sell as my husband has passed away. The car is in perfect running order, starts first time. Recently inspected by a classic car specialist,
who has given an extensive overall report on bodywork, engine/gearbox, brakes, steering, suspension and electrical (report available to view). He has reported a very solid example of an MG midget, where even exterior panels are not showing any signs of serious corrosion with the exception of the bonnet (photo attached). The underside of the car is very solid and requires no work at all. Many components are new, eg suspension and braking. The engine runs well and the car drives well, having just had carburrettors tuned, and a new battery and main lead fitted. All tyres are good. The specialist's opinion is that the car sale would achieve the best outcome by being sold as it is, and marketed as a running project that requires finishing. The car comes with hard and soft tops and a tonneau cover. There is a considerable amount of new spares which my husband bought to complete the project. These include a luggage rack, new steering wheel, seat covers, mats, front grill, gear stick knob, MG labels, various electrical items, cans of paint and polish, workshop manual (all included in the sale price). Also included is a weather cover. There is a considerable amount of service history paperwork and photos. The opinion is that the interior remedial work will be to fit the radio and console. Exterior work is the paintwork, which although solid is dull. The only other work is the bonnet. The car is available to inspect by appointment.
