MG B GT 1974
1975 MGB GT for sale
I have for sale my father’s MGB GT a 1975 car. It is said to be part of
the last 50 off batch of MG’s made prior to the ‘new’ rubber bumper
models. It has of course Chrome bumpers, wire wheels, o/d and the
unmodified engine is, it is understood, also as originally supplied by
BMC, and it does all as it should, without any smoke or wrong noises.
The car is not, unfortunately being used as it should be, my father
says he is ageing faster than the ‘B’. He has endeavoured to only use
the car in dry periods. The car is somewhat unique, in that all the
panels are original, no welding, as I believe is the paintwork, as
supplied by BMC. As can be seen from the photos the interior is
tastefully customised with new leather seating, a knurly looking and
polished dashboard, and new steering wheel.
Some 2 or 300 miles ago, my father was not sure the handling was as
it should have been, and the ‘B’ was taken to his local MG Specialist
who overhauled all the front end of the car. This included new
shockers, wheel bearings, tracking was set up to standard and new
tyres. Other items would have been included at this time, invoices
are to hand. Of recent times, a month or so ago, the carbs needed
to be looked at and my father also had the car checked over
professionally. My father’s local MG specialists, Classic MG Services
Ltd. took the car in and carried out the servicing as my father asked.
A new fuel tank, (it was becoming porous) new sender and digital
fuel pump. The fuel lines were replaced and the underneath
scrubbed and Waxoiled. It does cast some doubts to the uses of
ethanol in our fuels.
The car has been very well and professionally looked after, certainly
since my father owned it. It just hasn’t been used as he had planned.
The car is at present in the Fareham Hampshire area.
With the present condition and uniqueness of the car am looking at a
price of £11,250.0 ono.
